PicToss basics & your photos

What is PicToss?

PicToss is an Android app that helps you review, organize, and delete photos and videos from your device.

The main idea is simple:

  • swipe right to keep,
  • swipe left to move to trash,
  • review before deleting,
  • delete selected files using Android system mechanisms.

PicToss is designed to help you clean your gallery faster than reviewing files one by one in a traditional gallery app.

Are my photos uploaded to PicToss?

No.

Your photos and videos are not uploaded to Ten of Clubs Studio. PicToss does not run its own server, backend, API, or user database.

The core features of the app work locally on your Android device. This includes:

  • reviewing your gallery,
  • swiping photos,
  • detecting similar photos,
  • creating thumbnails,
  • using the in-app trash list,
  • deleting selected files.

Your photos and videos stay on your device unless you use another app or service that backs them up separately.

Does PicToss have access to my cloud photos?

PicToss works with media files available on your Android device.

If you use cloud backup services such as Google Photos, Samsung Cloud, OneDrive, Dropbox, or another provider, those services may have their own copies of your files. PicToss does not control your cloud backup settings.

Deleting a local file in PicToss may not delete a cloud copy that was already backed up by another service. If you want to manage cloud copies, check the settings of your cloud backup provider.

Does PicToss delete my Google Photos backup?

PicToss deletes files from your Android device using Android system mechanisms. It does not directly manage your Google Photos cloud backup.

Depending on your Google Photos settings, deleting a local file may or may not affect the version stored in Google Photos. Please check Google Photos settings if you want to understand how local deletion affects cloud backup.

PicToss cannot restore files from Google Photos or any other cloud service.

Why does PicToss need photo and video access?

PicToss needs photo and video access because its main purpose is to help you review and delete media from your device.

This permission is used to:

  • show your photos and videos inside PicToss,
  • generate thumbnails,
  • detect similar photos locally,
  • display file information,
  • let you choose what to keep or delete,
  • delete files you confirm for deletion.

PicToss does not use this permission to upload your photos to Ten of Clubs Studio.

Does PicToss need internet access?

The core PicToss features do not need internet access.

The app uses internet access only for:

  • loading ads in the free version,
  • processing purchases through Google Play,
  • managing Premium access through RevenueCat,
  • sending crash reports through Firebase Crashlytics.

PicToss does not use internet access to upload your photos or videos to Ten of Clubs Studio.

Does PicToss work offline?

Yes, the core cleaning features work offline.

You can review your gallery, swipe, detect similar photos, manage the in-app trash list, and delete files without an internet connection.

However, some features require internet access, including:

  • ads in the free version,
  • purchase verification,
  • restoring purchases,
  • subscription status updates,
  • crash reporting.

If you are offline, Premium verification or purchase restoration may not work until your device reconnects.

Swiping, trash & deletion

What happens when I swipe left?

Swiping left moves the current photo or video to the PicToss in-app trash list.

This does not necessarily delete the file immediately. You can usually review the trash list before confirming final deletion.

Final deletion happens only when you confirm deletion through PicToss and Android system mechanisms.

What happens when I swipe right?

Swiping right marks the current photo or video as kept.

PicToss remembers this decision locally on your device so it does not keep showing the same item again in the same review flow.

You can reset local decisions in the app settings if this option is available.

Can I undo a decision?

PicToss may include an undo option that lets you go back to a recent decision.

Undo is intended as a convenience feature. It may not always be available in every situation, especially after app restarts, data clearing, deletion, or system interruptions.

Before permanently deleting files, always review your selections carefully.

Can PicToss recover deleted photos?

No.

PicToss does not keep copies of your photos or videos. If a file is permanently deleted from your device, Ten of Clubs Studio cannot recover it for you.

You may be able to recover some files through:

  • Android system trash,
  • Google Photos trash,
  • Samsung Gallery trash,
  • another cloud backup service,
  • a backup you created separately.

This depends on your device, apps, backup settings, and whether the file was permanently deleted.

Warning

We strongly recommend backing up important photos and videos before deleting them.

Why does Android ask me to confirm deletion?

Android protects your media files by requiring confirmation before apps delete them. When PicToss asks to delete files, Android may show a system confirmation dialog. This is expected behavior.

PicToss uses Android system mechanisms for deletion. This helps ensure that files are deleted only after user confirmation where required by Android.

Why does deletion sometimes happen in batches?

Android may not handle very large deletion requests well if too many files are submitted at once. To improve stability, PicToss may delete files in smaller batches.

This can mean that Android shows more than one confirmation dialog when deleting many files. This is intentional and helps prevent the deletion process from freezing or failing.

Why do some deleted items still appear?

There are a few possible reasons:

  • the file was backed up by another app,
  • the media library has not refreshed yet,
  • the file is stored in a location with limited access,
  • Android or the gallery app is still updating,
  • the deletion was cancelled or only partially completed,
  • the item exists both locally and in a cloud service.

Try closing and reopening PicToss, refreshing your gallery, or checking your device gallery app. If the issue continues, contact support.

Similar photos

What are similar photos?

Similar photos are photos that PicToss identifies as visually or contextually close enough to review together.

This may help you clean:

  • burst shots,
  • repeated selfies,
  • multiple versions of the same scene,
  • screenshots taken close together,
  • nearly identical images.

Similar photo detection is meant to help you review faster. It does not automatically decide what to delete. You remain responsible for reviewing each photo before deleting it.

Does PicToss automatically delete duplicates?

No.

PicToss does not automatically delete your photos without your decision. It may help identify similar photos, but you decide what to keep and what to delete.

This is intentional. Your photos are personal, and PicToss should not make final deletion decisions for you.

Why did PicToss not find all duplicates?

PicToss may not detect every duplicate or similar photo.

Similar photo detection can be affected by:

  • image quality,
  • file format,
  • edits or filters,
  • screenshots,
  • cropping,
  • resolution differences,
  • missing metadata,
  • Android media access limitations,
  • performance limits on the device.

The feature is designed to help, but it is not a perfect forensic duplicate detection tool.

Premium & purchases

What is Premium?

Premium is the paid version of PicToss.

Depending on the offer available in the app, Premium may include:

  • removal of ads,
  • similar photo features,
  • browsing by time period,
  • additional organization tools,
  • folder-related information,
  • additional review/reset options,
  • other paid features.

The exact Premium features are shown inside the app before purchase. See also the Subscription Terms.

Does Premium remove ads?

Yes. Premium removes ads from PicToss.

If you purchased Premium and still see ads, try:

  1. checking your internet connection,
  2. opening PicToss again,
  3. using “Restore Purchases” if available,
  4. confirming you are signed into the same Google Play account used for the purchase.

If ads still appear after this, contact support.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed through Google Play.

In general, you can cancel a subscription by opening Google Play, going to your account area, selecting payments and subscriptions, then choosing the PicToss subscription and cancelling it. The exact steps may vary depending on your Google Play version, country, device, and account settings.

Important

Uninstalling PicToss does not cancel your subscription. Clearing app data does not cancel your subscription. Changing devices does not cancel your subscription. To stop future charges, you must cancel through Google Play before the next renewal date.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by Google Play. Refund eligibility depends on Google Play policies and applicable law.

Ten of Clubs Studio does not receive your full payment card details and cannot directly control refunds processed by Google Play.

You can request a refund through Google Play refund tools. You can also contact us for help, but we cannot guarantee that Google Play will approve a refund.

What is a Lifetime purchase?

A Lifetime purchase gives you access to the specified Premium features for the lifetime of the PicToss app as a product.

“Lifetime” means the lifetime of the PicToss app, not the lifetime of the user, device, Google account, Android platform, or any third-party service.

A Lifetime purchase does not guarantee that:

  • PicToss will exist forever,
  • every future app from Ten of Clubs Studio will be included,
  • every future platform will be included,
  • every future feature will be included,
  • PicToss will work on every future Android version or device.

More details are available in the PicToss Subscription Terms.

How do I restore Premium?

If you changed devices, reinstalled PicToss, or do not see Premium after purchase, use “Restore Purchases” if available in the app.

Restoring purchases may require:

  • an internet connection,
  • Google Play services,
  • the same Google account used for the purchase,
  • successful verification through Google Play,
  • successful verification through RevenueCat.

If restore does not work, contact support and include: app version, device model, Android version, purchase type, approximate purchase date, and whether you changed Google accounts or devices. Do not send full payment card details.

Why did I lose Premium?

Premium access may be lost if:

  • your subscription expired,
  • your subscription was cancelled and the paid period ended,
  • payment failed,
  • the purchase was refunded,
  • the purchase was reversed or charged back,
  • the purchase cannot be verified,
  • you are using a different Google account,
  • Google Play services are unavailable,
  • RevenueCat verification is unavailable,
  • the app cannot connect to the internet for verification.

If you believe this is a mistake, contact support.

Why do I see ads after buying Premium?

This can happen if the app has not yet verified your purchase.

Try:

  1. checking your internet connection,
  2. restarting PicToss,
  3. using “Restore Purchases”,
  4. checking that you are signed into the correct Google Play account,
  5. updating PicToss to the latest version.

If the problem continues, contact support.

Ads & consent

Can I use PicToss without ads?

Yes.

You can remove ads by purchasing Premium if Premium is available in your country and on your device. Premium users should not see ads inside PicToss.

In some regions, such as the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, apps may need to ask for your advertising consent before showing personalized ads.

PicToss may show a consent form provided by Google’s consent tools. Your choices may affect whether you see personalized or non-personalized ads in the free version.

Premium removes ads from PicToss.

Why does PicToss show ads in the free version?

Ads help support the development and maintenance of PicToss. They allow us to offer a free version of the app.

If you prefer not to see ads, you can purchase Premium.

How can I report an inappropriate ad?

Ads are provided by Google AdMob.

If you see an inappropriate, misleading, or offensive ad, you can use any reporting tools available on the ad itself, if shown.

You can also contact us at support@tenofclubs.dev. Please include:

  • screenshot of the ad, if possible,
  • approximate date and time,
  • your country,
  • device model,
  • app version.

Do not include private photos or unnecessary sensitive information.

Privacy & data

Does PicToss use Firebase Crashlytics?

Yes.

PicToss uses Firebase Crashlytics to detect crashes and improve app stability.

Crashlytics may send technical crash information such as:

  • device model,
  • Android version,
  • app version,
  • crash logs,
  • stack traces,
  • diagnostic information.

Crashlytics is not used to upload your photos or videos. Crash reports help us fix problems and make the app more stable.

More details are available in the PicToss Privacy Policy.

Does PicToss use analytics?

PicToss currently does not use Firebase Analytics.

PicToss uses Firebase Crashlytics for crash and stability reporting.

If we add analytics in the future, we will update the Privacy Policy where required.

Does PicToss sell my data?

No.

PicToss does not sell your photos, videos, or local app decisions.

The free version uses Google AdMob to display ads. Advertising-related processing is handled by Google according to its own privacy practices and your choices where applicable.

PicToss does not sell your photo library.

Does PicToss have a user account?

No.

PicToss does not currently have user accounts, login, cloud sync, or a Ten of Clubs Studio profile system.

This is intentional. PicToss is designed to stay local-first and privacy-friendly.

Does PicToss sync my data?

No.

PicToss does not currently sync your app data across devices. Local decisions, settings, and statistics are stored on your device.

If you change devices or clear app data, local history may not transfer. Purchases may be restorable through Google Play if you use the same Google account.

Can I delete all data PicToss has about me?

PicToss does not store your photos, videos, account profile, or personal gallery data on Ten of Clubs Studio servers.

To remove local PicToss data from your device, you can:

  • clear the app’s data in Android settings,
  • uninstall PicToss.

For purchase, advertising, and crash-reporting data processed by third-party services, you may need to use Google, Google Play, Firebase, RevenueCat, or Android privacy tools.

More details are available in the PicToss Privacy Policy and the data deletion page.

Performance

Why does PicToss load slowly?

PicToss may need time to read your media library, generate thumbnails, or analyze similar photos.

Performance can depend on:

  • number of photos and videos,
  • device speed,
  • available memory,
  • storage speed,
  • Android version,
  • file formats,
  • whether other apps are running.

If your gallery is very large, the first scan may take longer.

Why does my phone get warm?

Reviewing many photos, generating thumbnails, analyzing similar photos, and deleting files can use device resources. Your phone may get warm during heavy processing. This is usually temporary.

If your phone becomes too hot, stop using the app for a while and let the device cool down.

Why does PicToss need to process thumbnails?

Thumbnails allow PicToss to show your photos quickly without loading full-size images every time. This improves performance and reduces memory use.

Thumbnail generation happens locally on your device. PicToss does not upload thumbnails to Ten of Clubs Studio.

Files, updates & safety

Does PicToss change my original photos?

PicToss is designed to help you review and delete files. It does not edit or modify your original photos as part of the core cleaning process.

If you delete a file, the file may be removed from your device according to Android system behavior.

Can PicToss damage my files?

PicToss is not designed to modify your photo or video files.

However, any app that manages files depends on Android, device storage, media permissions, and system behavior. You should keep backups of important files.

Ten of Clubs Studio cannot recover files that have been permanently deleted from your device.

Why does PicToss ask me to update?

Updates may include:

  • bug fixes,
  • stability improvements,
  • security improvements,
  • compatibility fixes,
  • purchase system updates,
  • Android permission updates,
  • new features.

Some older versions may stop working correctly if Android, Google Play, or third-party services change. We recommend keeping PicToss updated.

Devices, accounts & app data

What happens if I uninstall PicToss?

If you uninstall PicToss:

  • local app settings may be removed,
  • local swipe decisions may be removed,
  • local statistics may be removed,
  • cached app data may be removed.

Uninstalling PicToss does not automatically cancel an active subscription. To cancel a subscription, you must use Google Play.

Your photos and videos are not removed just because you uninstall PicToss, unless you already deleted them through the app or another method.

What happens if I clear app data?

Clearing app data may remove:

  • local settings,
  • local decisions,
  • local trash list information,
  • local statistics,
  • cached thumbnails,
  • local Premium state.

It does not cancel a subscription. After clearing app data, you may need to restore purchases to re-enable Premium.

Clearing app data does not delete your whole photo library.

Can I use PicToss on multiple devices?

Purchases are usually linked to your Google Play account.

You may be able to use Premium on another Android device if:

  • you are signed into the same Google Play account,
  • the purchase is still valid,
  • PicToss is available on that device,
  • Google Play and RevenueCat can verify the purchase.

Feature availability may depend on device compatibility and app version.

Can I transfer Premium to another Google account?

Usually no.

Purchases are linked to the Google Play account used for purchase. Ten of Clubs Studio generally cannot transfer purchases between Google accounts unless Google Play provides a supported mechanism.

Please make purchases using the Google account you want to keep using.

Is PicToss available on iPhone?

PicToss is currently intended for Android.

If an iOS version becomes available in the future, it may have separate terms, pricing, features, or purchase rules.

A purchase on Android does not automatically guarantee access to future iOS, web, desktop, or other platform versions.

PicToss gives you tools to clean your gallery faster. You stay in control. Please review carefully before deleting anything important.
